Your mosaic photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded to SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY. Optional companion features send previews and controls between your paired devices. Update requests and some third-party components involve limited technical data, explained below.

1. Who we are and what this covers

SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides the applications described in this policy. Where accented characters cannot be displayed, our name may appear as SOPE TECHNOLOGY.

This policy applies to applications published by SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY that link to it, including Mosaic Creator and Photo Mosaic Creator Pro. Their editions include macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, Android, Windows and Linux, where available. Availability of a platform does not mean every feature is available on that platform.

Shared sections explain our handling of support requests and service operations. The app-specific section explains the data used by Mosaic Creator. Another app linking to this policy will have its own section or supplemental notice describing its actual features, permissions, providers and data practices. An app-specific notice explains any differences from the shared sections.

This is an application privacy policy. Separate notices may apply to other services on our company website.

2. Information and why it is used

Information you choose to provide

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any files or diagnostic information you choose to attach. We use this information to answer questions, investigate problems and manage the request. Please do not send passwords, payment credentials or unnecessary personal information.

Technical requests

When an app checks our release server, downloads an update, or you visit a page we host, the hosting or delivery provider receives information needed to handle the request. This can include your IP address, the requested URL, time, response status and client information such as a user-agent. This information supports delivery, troubleshooting, reliability and protection against abuse. It is separate from the photos or documents processed inside an app.

Features that need additional information

App-specific sections identify information used for particular features. Before introducing materially different practices, such as online accounts, cloud uploads, advertising or new analytics, we will update the applicable notice and provide any disclosures or choices required for that feature. An operating-system permission does not by itself authorize unrelated uses of information.

3. Mosaic Creator & Photo Mosaic Creator Pro

Photos, mosaics and projects

The apps read the main image and tile photos you select to create a mosaic. Image decoding, colour matching, tile placement and print rendering run locally on your device. The apps do not upload these photos, mosaics or project contents to SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY. Original photo files are not edited.

Depending on the platform, the app can keep imported copies, thumbnails, settings, temporary previews or export files in local app storage. Files you export or save, including .pmqz projects, go to locations you select. Project contents vary by format and version; do not assume that every original tile photo is embedded. Projects may contain the completed mosaic, settings and local file references.

If you choose a cloud-backed folder, use your operating system’s sharing tools, or send a project to someone, your chosen service or recipient receives the content you share. Those transfers are under your control.

Optional face-aware cropping

Face detection can help position crops so faces remain visible in small tiles. It runs on the device. The app does not use it to identify people, authenticate users or build a database of identities. You can switch off face-aware cropping in mosaic settings.

Android: the current Android edition uses Google ML Kit Face Detection. Google states that image inputs and detection outputs stay on the device. Its SDK sends technical metrics to Google, including device and app information, installation-scoped identifiers, performance, configuration, event and error information, for diagnostics and SDK usage analysis. Google may also receive requests for SDK maintenance information. These communications are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy; see ML Kit privacy details and Android SDK data disclosures. Switching off face cropping avoids using that feature, but is not a general opt-out from every SDK or platform communication.

Nearby devices and Apple Watch

Where supported and enabled, nearby-device discovery advertises an app/device identifier, device kind and a display name on the local network. The display name may initially be your device’s name; you can change the name shown to other devices in app settings.

After you approve pairing, participating devices exchange mosaic preview images, project/display titles, progress, status, settings and control commands. iPhone/iPad relay connections use encrypted, authenticated local connections. Pairing identities and trust information are stored on the devices to support automatic reconnection. You can disable nearby-device sharing and forget remembered devices in the app’s device settings.

The Apple Watch companion exchanges preview and control information with its paired iPhone through Apple WatchConnectivity. An approved iPad session may be relayed through the iPhone. These features do not send your previews to a SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY cloud relay. A device you pair can display the shared preview and associated information; pair only with devices you trust.

Updates and downloads

Direct-download editions may contact our Cloudflare-hosted release service to check a signed update catalogue and download a selected package. These requests do not contain your mosaic photos or project contents. Request metadata is described in section 2.

The Microsoft Store edition receives application updates through Microsoft Store. iOS, iPadOS and watchOS updates are delivered through Apple’s distribution systems; Google Play editions use Google Play for installation of updates. Some editions may still check a release catalogue to display update availability or a store link. Store providers handle store accounts, download records, purchases where applicable and platform diagnostics under their own policies.

Permissions, accounts and advertising

File or photo access is used for images you choose and exports you save. Local network access is used for supported companion features. The Android direct-download edition can ask the operating system for permission to install an app update; the Google Play edition does not use that installation permission.

The current Mosaic Creator apps do not require a SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY account and do not include advertising or in-app purchases. We have not added an advertising SDK or a separate app analytics service. The Android ML Kit technical metrics described above, store diagnostics and delivery-server request information are exceptions to any general description of the apps as “local” or “offline”.

4. Recipients and service providers

Information reaches a recipient only as relevant to the feature or interaction:

  • Hosting and delivery providers: Cloudflare supports the current release-download infrastructure and processes network requests. Cloudflare privacy information.
  • Platform and store providers: Apple, Google and Microsoft handle their operating systems, distribution and platform services. See Apple, Google and Microsoft privacy information.
  • Google ML Kit: the Android-specific technical processing is described in section 3.
  • Support providers: our email/service providers process correspondence needed to receive and respond to your requests.
  • Your chosen recipients: devices, apps, cloud folders or people you choose when pairing, saving or sharing.

We do not sell personal information or disclose it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the current Mosaic Creator apps. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or to protect legal rights and the security of our services, limited to what is necessary for that purpose.

5. Storage, retention and security

On your device: saved projects, imported copies and settings remain until you remove them or clear the app’s storage, subject to platform behaviour. Uninstalling an app may remove its private storage; it generally does not remove files you exported elsewhere, copies shared with others, or independent backups. Pairing data can be removed through the available Forget controls.

Support and service records: we retain information only as needed to handle the request, maintain and secure services, resolve disputes or meet applicable record-keeping duties. Retention depends on the type and purpose of the record. Provider-controlled records, such as store or ML Kit diagnostics, follow the provider’s policies. Contact us about information held by us using the details below.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including encrypted transport for release downloads and the iPhone/iPad relay, and authenticated pairing for that relay. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your choices and privacy rights

  • Choose which files to open and where to save or share outputs.
  • Manage app permissions and platform backup/diagnostic choices in your device settings.
  • Turn off optional face cropping or nearby-device sharing where available, and forget paired devices.
  • Delete local data and exported copies using the app, platform storage controls or file tools.
  • Contact us about personal information in support correspondence or service records held by us.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and raise a grievance or complain to the relevant authority. We will handle requests within the applicable legal time limits and may need proportionate information to verify the request. We cannot retrieve or delete photos stored only on your devices or copies controlled by another recipient.

Where a legal basis is required, processing is based on the service you request, consent for optional uses where required, legitimate operational/security interests where permitted, or applicable legal obligations. Withdrawing consent does not affect lawful processing that already occurred.

7. Children’s privacy

The current Mosaic Creator apps are general-purpose creative tools and do not require users to submit an age or create an account with us. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A store content age rating is not a request for children to provide personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information can contact us for review and appropriate deletion. Any future feature directed to children or requiring parental consent will have the necessary notice and consent process before that collection begins.

8. International processing

SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY operates from India. Support, hosting, SDK and platform providers may process information in other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the safeguards required for the relevant processing. Local-only mosaic processing does not itself require an international transfer of your photos.

9. Changes and future applications

We may update this page as our apps, providers or practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate app or service notice, and we will obtain consent where required before a new use begins. An update to this policy alone is not consent to a new use.

Future SOPÉ TECHNOLOGY applications may link to this same page. Their specific data practices will be added here or in a clearly linked app notice before release. The Mosaic Creator section does not describe or authorize data collection in an unrelated future app.
